Crystal Thornton is an evangelist, founder of Psalm 56 Ministries, and speaker whose preaching from God's Word addresses hot topics of today's culture to meet women on a quest for the truth of the gospel.

In 2018, I was called to attend ministry school under Pastor Jentezen Franklin at Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA. I answered the call, and graduated in May of 2020. I always had aspirations to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, hurting, and those on a quest for truth of the gospel. Upon meeting and marrying my husband, I shared my passion for Jesus with him, and how one day I aspire to build a church in my hometown. I've always heard that “God either shows you the mountaintop and not the path to get there, or He will show you the path and not the mountaintop.” Interestingly, I have been shown the mountaintop, and not the path.
Psalm 56 Ministries was birthed out of faith. My husband and I prayerfully decided to make a big move cross country in June 2023. Prior to the move, we resided in Gainesville, GA. This is where we heard God call us to move back to my hometown Amarillo, TX to begin our journey in ministry. We practically did not know what this looked like, nor how to begin. As we moved to Amarillo, we both continued our remote jobs, in completely different fields than ministry. As the weeks went on, I grew more of a burden to quit my job and begin full time ministry as a Christian social media influencer, speaker, and evangelist.
“In God I will praise His word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” Psalm 56:4
Before we were under contract on the home, this was the scripture that our builder purposely placed on the inside of our new home in Amarillo. This verse is the foundation of what the business is founded upon, and is significant in what God has spoken to us regarding the ministry.
I truly believe the stepping stones to get to that mountaintop is through this business. My husband and I have devoted our time and energy into creating social media platforms to preach/teach the gospel. This includes: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The platforms I have may not be a brick and mortar church, but these platforms are still significant and can be used to impact those around me for the good. I know God has called me to share my story, my experiences, and who I have come to learn who He truly is. There are so many false narratives of who we perceive God to be, yet I’ve been called to tear down those lies and spread the truth of Jesus Christ.
