Grateful for the support she’s received, and passionate about her role as a Traumatic Brain Injury advocate and caregiver, she was inspired to write her first book entitled “Broken Wings” to help others understand the life of a brain injury survivor and his caregiver.   She also published “What Do You Do…When Caregivers Need Care Given” as a resource for those operating in the role as a caregiver to those with chronic or lifelong illnesses.  Educating, empowering, and enlightening others she shares wisdom gleaned from the years of personal and professional caregiving experience for maintaining your physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being while caring for others.

Twylia was inspired to write “Affirmations for the Mind, Body, & Soul; A Guide for Survivors of Traumatic Events” to demonstrate to survivors how their lives can be changed by the power of their words.  Inspiring and motivating other survivors and caregivers by providing resources, encouragement, motivation, and inspiration is what she lives for.  Teaching them how to turn their tragedy into working strategies to get results in spite of life challenges is her calling.

She’s  also the visionary and author of “My Journey Goal Setting Journal”, “The WORD, the Truth & the Light: Bible Study Notebook”, “A Survivors Goal Planning Journal: A Brain Injury Survivor’s Guide to Goal Setting”, “Pray Believe Receive Prayer Journal”, and “But First…COFFEE” Monthly Planner.  She is currently working on a memoir entitled “Private Pain”, and a 30-day devotional entitled “SOARING By the Power of God” which will both be released in 2019.

"My Journey Goal Setting Journal"

Are your daily activities bringing you closer to your goals? If not, do not expect the things in your life you need and want to be different and changed, to be different or change. Some people think that setting goals are a demonstration of not having trust in God, and they should wait on God to lead them and show them the way. Don’t get it twisted, God doesn’t want us to make moves without consulting Him, but He also doesn’t want us doing anything. Why? Because He has given us gifts and talents and expects us to use them to do good works. However, setting goals and consulting...

Pray Believe Receive Prayer Journal (His/Hers)

Prayer is our communication channel with God. We are mandated to use it without ceasing. God tells us to not be dismayed, no matter what comes our way, because we can go to Him and make our requests be known. Therefore, I find great joy in knowing that whatever I ask for in prayer, believing that I have received it that it will be mine. The more you use the journal, the more you will notice that your conversations with God will improve. This prayer journal is not just designed to record your prayer request; it can be used to help you as you develop your prayer life during your intimate times...

The WORD The Truth & The Light - Bible Study Notebook

The Bible has 66 books, more than 1, 000 chapters, and written by various authors. Whether you have no Bible experience or have studied the Bible for years, this handy Bible Study Notebook provides an excellent introduction to personal Bible study.  One key difference between reading and studying is writing down what you hear and absorb. This isn't just so you'll remember it later. The very act of writing requires you to formulate your thoughts clearly. Writing forces you to identify vague thinking for what it is and push past it. Write down what you’re learning because it...

"Affirmations For the Mind, Body & Soul" A Guide for Survivors of Traumatic Events

Deciding to make a commitment to have a better life in spite of the challenges that accompany tragedies is critical to you having a positive, productive life. Once the commitment is made, the blinders will fall off, enabling you to see the opportunities that have been before you all along. Yes, that’s right: commitment changes you by changing your self-identity and the way you see yourself. Once you begin to see yourself the way God sees you you’ve reached the point of no return! Once this shift occurs, your entire world will change. Positive affirmations can be used to transform...

"What Do You Do...When Caregivers Need Care Given"

Being a caregiver can be a difficult role. It requires patience, sensitivity, selflessness, and hard work. Providing care for someone, whether it’s a child, a parent, a loved one, or as a professional requires a high level of self-love and self-care. Caregiving can feel rewarding and hard at the same time. But while it may be a rewarding experience to care for a loved one, the emotional and physical stress of caregiving far too often leads to burnout and exhaustion, causing caregivers to put themselves and their own well-being in the background. Caregivers often feel stressed, neglected,...

I would like to thank Ms Twylia Reid for being the guest speaker at our Caregivers Conference. She gave our participants the opportunity to better understand the journey of those afflicted with traumatic brain injuries and disorders. I was looking for someone to speak to our Family Caregivers group at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church in Hinesville. I came across Ms Twylia Reid's website and contacted her. She spoke to our group in November for National Family Caregivers Month. Ms. Reid is a dynamic speaker. People are still commenting on how much they enjoyed her talk. I know that she touched many hearts that day. She spoke on behalf of caregivers and care receivers. She is very warm and it was so easy to communicate with her what I wanted for our group. We want her to come again.
