More About Anna Wood

Colossians 3: 17, And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Anna Wood has been praised by those who work with abused women, by pastors, and readers (many of whom were abused) for her insight into the lives of women suffering under the heavy hand of domestic abuse. As the co-author of the book A Cry for Justice: How the Evil of Domestic Abuse Hides in Your Church (November, 2012, Calvary Press), Anna helped to address the issue of how the church can come alongside of women who are being abused. As a speaker, her goal is to bring glory to the Lord, to help the church understand the lives of abused women, and to help the church know how to minister to those who have been abused.

Anna is a passionate student of the Word of God, and an avid reader of works by reformed and Puritan writers. She is a Reformed Baptist, a mother of 9, and a survivor of childhood abuse and domestic abuse. She aches over the condition of the church today and longs to see the Lord glorified in the lives of His women. She will not stand in for a pastor or present a sermon but will speak in a biblically appropriate manner to church groups, women's groups, and conferences.

Soli Deo Gloria!

A Cry for Justice: How the Evil of Domestic Abuse Hides in Your Church

Abuse in the church of Jesus Christ. In many Christian circles this may be a taboo subject--spoken of in hushed tones or behind closed doors. But it is a very real problem that must be brought into the light of Scripture. Abuse in the church takes different forms; but it is alive and active even in "nice" families in our churches. Typically, the abuser is male, usually a husband--and his character is that of a manipulating deceiver. Countless women and children--even many faithful pastors--have been abused by these deceivers. Have you, or someone you know, been a victim? Has...
