When looking for an internationally recognized communicator who ignites the atmosphere with contagious enthusiasm and a passion for purpose, you have but to look directly at Gail Hayes or Dr. Gail, as others affectionately call her. Her engaging, humorous, and candid style of communication leaves audiences wanting more and inspired to act on dreams and visions unfulfilled.
Dr. Gail is a professional vocalist and has spoken and performed on stages across Europe, Asia and in the United States. She lived in Asia for over four years and in Europe for over ten years where she served as the Volunteer Management Consultant for the largest American community outside of the US. While living in Europe, she also served as a training consultant for the European Office of Personnel Management (OPM) where she specialized in Workplace Conflict Resolution and Customer Relations Management.
Dr. Gail served as the first African American female law enforcement officer and fire fighter in Chapel Hill, NC and is a certified NRA Firearms Instructor. These experiences enable her to successfully connect and relate to diverse audiences, both male and female.
Her background also includes working on Capitol Hill for the National Conference of State Legislatures and the National Governors Conference where she received the National Governors Conference’s Award for Outstanding Leadership in State Government. In January 2016, Governor Pat McCrory appointed Dr. Gail to the NC African American Commission and in July 2016, Dr. Gail was appointed to the Leadership Council of the NC Institute of Political Leadership.
A frequent media guest, she has appeared on numerous national and international media outlets including the QVC Shopping Channel, NBC’S My Carolina Today, and on European television and numerous other media outlets. She has also written for print media including MSNBC.
In her work in the educational arena, she and her puppets Locket & Pocket Socket™ have appeared with PBS Stars, Mr. McFeely from Mister Rodger’s Neighborhood and Lionel from Between the Lions. She currently serves as an Anti-Bullying & Leadership consultant for women in the workplace and in the educational organizations and schools across the nation.
Dr. Gail is the CEO of the Handle Your Business Girl Empowerment Zone, a community where she also hosts Handle Your Business Girl Television, Radio and the upcoming digital magazine where she provides information to inspire, encourage, and empower. She is the author of over 30 books including One Minute Success Secrets for Women, The Power of a Woman Who Leads, and You are a Daughter of the King, all published by Harvest House Publishing.
A passionate anti-abortion, speaker, she shared her video testimony about her abortion experience with the NC State House and assisted overturning the former governor's veto. Doctors told her that she would never have children because of the enormous web or scar tissue which accumulated after having two abortions. The Father opened her womb and she had her first child at age 41 and her second at age 43.
