Survivor
Sandy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer in 2014 while living a high-pressure life in Hollywood, CA. Within the trauma of a sickening, life-threatening disease, Sandy experienced God's kindness, power, guidance, and encouragement. Today, Sandy loves to share the encouragement of God with others in their cancer journeys. She's written "The Cancer Prayer Journal for Women," which debuted #1 on Amazon in the prayer category.
Writer
Sandy writes a weekly blog called "A Cup of Courage." In it, she explores the joy of today's relevant and personal messages nestled within God's living word. She writes inspired Bible-centric poetry that flows from her prayer time. Sandy published a collection of this poetry in 2005. The second edition, "Everyday Matters," is slated for release in Summer 2024. Sandy is writing a book on the plan God gave her for her Stage 4 Cancer journey. It will be released in October 2024. She writes an occasional article for local publications.
Speaker
Sandy has enjoyed speaking and teaching at various kids', teens', college/career, married ministry, and women's ministry events. After her daughter's success on the Disney channel, she spoke at acting seminars for children and parents in the Entertainment Industry. She currently speaks to Christian Women's Groups and Cancer Support Groups and does workshops and classes for Entertainment and Acting Business events.
Wife & Mother
Sandy's been married to her husband, Chris, for 36 years; they are empty nesters who enjoy fostering animals from the local shelter. In addition to writing and speaking, she is a prayer minister at "Oak Hills Church." She and her husband Chris have co-raised son Chase Ryan, multi-media producer and owner of Ryan River Media. Our daughter is Debby Ryan, an actress, producer, and director who started on the Disney Channel's Suite Life on Deck and starred in her show, "Jessie." Chase and Debby married the loves of their lives, and both live out of town. Chase and his wife Sarah just welcomed the family's first grandbaby and joy of Sandy's life.
