More About Shelly Beach


Shelly is an award-winning author of ten books of both fiction and nonfiction. In 2008, her first novel won the prestigious Christy Award, and her first nonfiction book was nominated for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Book of the Year Award. She is the caregiving liaison for Guideposts outreach division. In addition to her own books, Shelly has co-authored/ghosted with notable national writers and speakers, including a Mayo Clinic physician, Pulitzer Prize finalist, New York Times best-selling author, and scholars from various fields.

Shelly also served as managing editor of Zondervan’s Hope in the Mourning Bible (Fall 2013) and was one of three writers for Zondervan’s NIV Stewardship Bible, as well as a contributor to Tyndale’s Mosaic Bible. She is co-founder of the Breathe Writer’s Conference and the Cedar Falls Christian Writer’s Workshop. Shelly has spoken nationally on a wide variety of issues and presents seminars for Daughters of Destiny national women’s prison ministry. She is also co-founder of PTSD Perspectives and presents seminars on post-traumatic stress disorder to medical and mental health professionals, counselors, social workers, law enforcement officers, child advocates, educators, and other professionals. Shelly and her husband Dan reside in the Rockford, Michigan, area. They are the proud parents of two adult married children and grandparents to four adorable grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter.

In December of 2015, Shelly had surgery for a lesion found deep within in her brain stem. After more than 16 months of testing, doctors determined she has an atypical form of multiple sclerosis.
