Even as humanism dominates our culture and applies flexible standards, Christians must adhere to an absolute standard of right and wrong. We must maintain the rules that apply to everyone for all time. Society's disapproval should not cause us to shrink back in weakness. Christian indifference makes us accountable for the downturn in American culture. We have tolerated that which is clearly wrong. Loving and accepting without discretion is harmful because it loves and accepts evil. God hates evil (Prov. 6:16-19). It is half-hearted to believe obedience to God's commandments is arrogant and narrow-minded. We should repent for assuming God is flexible concerning righteousness. We must let our light shine before men so they will see good works which perpetuate the gospel and glorify God's holy character (Matt. 5:16).
