In comparison with the universe and given our brief appearance on this earth, of what consequence are we? How can Almighty God give any thought to us? And yet he does. He saw Gideon hiding in a wine press threshing wheat because of his fear of the enemy, and He came to Gideon, calling him a valiant warrior. Jesus looked up into a tree and saw a hated, wee little man named Zacheus and went to his house to dine with him. And so it is with us. Whatever our struggles, God sees us. God hears us. He knows when we rise up and when we sit down. He knows the number of hairs on our heads and the number of our days. We are not inconsequential to God. We are of great worth to Him.
