I was always being picked on in school. They'd harass me for how I looked, how I talked, threaten to beat me up, and followed me around school calling me bad names. I was devastated and had no idea why I was so hated. Eventually I turned inward and began down a path of self-hatred. If everyone else hated me, there must be something wrong with me! I dealt with shame and condemnation for years. Jesus has taught me who I am in Him and I want to share my struggles with others transparently. Those wounds hurt me tremendously. But we have a Healer who is able to bind up our wounds and set us free. I may have scars, but they tell a story.
