Penny Stephenson is a humorous, inspirational speaker, an author and creator of the character, Merry Weatherbee ~ Life Observer, who observes life in the rhyme of schemes. Her mission is to flip negative outlooks to hopeful up-looks by discovering the merry moments God sometimes buries in maddening and mundane situations. Her joyous, uplifting and uniquely tailored programs make memories, inspire women to be Christ-centered life observers and send them out with a fresh, new up-look on life. Merry Weatherbee’s Alter Ego…Penny Who?
Penny Stephenson, created the character of Merry Weatherbee ~ Life Observer, in 1985, in the midst of the oil bust years of the Mid-West, while she was raising her children as a commercial writer and broadcast talent. It was a down-turned time and many devastated Oklahomans needed fresh hope, inspiration and humor. But no matter what year or season we're living in, the need for Christ's hope mixed with rubber-hit-the-road, slice-of-life humor remains a constant in our lives. --And so, along her merry way, "Merry" has entertained and uplifted thousands of men and women of all ages and stages in life with God's faithful help.
Her topics range from potty training, picking out cereal, grocery shopping, house cleaning, pulling weeds, garage sales, driving with your spouse, along with oodles more observations spanning the many seasons of our lives to the many seasons of the year, including tributes to special holidays. This large, wide-range of topics helps create one-of-a-kind flexible programming, tailored to your event theme and audience.
Penny has also authored the book, “Life is a Yo-Yo,” which is chuck full of her hilarious, yet insightful poems. It's the perfect keepsake gift or door-prize that will keep the smiles, memories and Christian up-look going long after your special event.
Penny and her husband Craig, have two adult, married children and five grandchildren who call them “Noni & Papa.” They are regular attending members of Faith Bible Church of Edmond, where Penny serves with their Widows, Children's and Encouragement ministries.
She earned her B.A. Degree in Radio and Television Communications, at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, and has enjoyed many adventurous years in the Broadcast Industry and Corporate Communications.
