Laurie McDevitt is a speaker, faith-walker, and special education advocate and consultant. She uses scripture and her life-adventures to bring laughter, and leave women feeling connected with God, lighter, and inspired to share their journey and healing stories with others.

I have stories to tell. They keep me up at night and I believe God has laid them on my heart to share. I am to share the pain, the struggle, the grace. Give glory to Him! As a certified special education teacher and child advocate, I naturally teach in my presentations. I love teaching and see speaking and presenting as a natural relation to teaching. I know about special education and after a study about how God gifted me, my passion and what motivates me, I founded my own company (advocacyforthespecialones.com)to help be a voice for the voiceless as I advocate and attend school meetings with parents.
Part of my story is that I have been a single mom for 30 years! That sounds crazy even as I write it! I have two beautiful children and three grandchildren. I remember being at church 30 years ago when my boy was still in a car carrier. A couple I met told me they had both been single and waited on the Lord for 10 years before they found one another! I remember thinking 10 YEARS!! Some days I barely remember why I walked into a room, but I remember THAT conversation! Oh does God have a sense of humor!!
Along the way I have developed stories about perseverance, joy, trust, forgiveness, hope, healing, grief, grace, community and incredible friendships. I would be honored to share the stories that keep me up at night and that helped shape who I am today!
