The Secret to Planning Amazing Conferences

The Secret to Planning Amazing Conferences

Planning is getting ready for something whether it is big or small. We plan for our future, we plan the lunches for our kids and spouse, we plan our journey through school to get the degree desired, and so on. To be successful, we know that an element of planning needs to be done. But…

Are we praying about these plans?

I suggest looking into Gods Word to see what is said about planning. At first glance, it may seem like a mixed message where on one hand God has great plans for us, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV). Then Proverbs 21:5 (ESV) says, The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” I believe these verses clearly state that planning is necessary, but also is bringing God into the plans. Planning without God means being limited to our own strength. Great things usually dont happen if its up to me to make it happen, that is, not without burning out, running on emotions, or quitting. There is power in prayer because the source of power is God.

I am not a plant person at all unless you need a plant murderer. Whenever I receive a beautiful plant, I am quick to give it to the Lord for his care somewhere nice outside. It most likely will do a lot better there than in the house with me. In planning a conference, am I able to do the same thing? Can I give it totally to God, invite him in the planning, have the team praying, and acknowledge that the conference truly is his, not mine? I am a servant. My role is to do what I am directed to do by God. I know what God wants me to do through my ongoing relationship with him. Through prayer, reading the Bible, be aware of his hand moving in my or someone elses life, and more, I know what I need to do. Its the whole open and close doors that show me where I need to go and not go. Its being aware.

Building on your relationship with God will bring you to have the best experience in planning a conference or anything else in your life. There is a difference when you rely on Gods prompting. Amazing things happen that you could not have planned.  Dont miss out on what God can do.
