BIOGRAPHY OF
DR. BOBBIE SMITH-POWELL
Dr. Bobbie Smith Powell, a native Floridian born in Cross City, Florida, of Dixie County. Dr. Powell comes from several generations of ministers, educators, and entrepreneurs. In 2014, she retired as an educator from the State of Florida after 30 years of teaching experience with a combination of experience at the elementary level, the middle school level, the high school level, and the college level. During those years she obtained experience expanding from the classroom, to administration at the school level, and at the district office; in the public school setting, the private school setting, the college setting, the alternative school setting, the juvenile correctional setting, and the adult correctional setting. She was raised on her family owned one hundred and sixteen-acre farm in Sylvester, Georgia. While on the farm, she learned many skills pertaining to business, hard work, farming, fishing, and survival from her maternal grandmother.
Dr. Powell attended Florida State University, St. Thomas University, Barry University, University of Miami School of Law, West Technical Vocational Center and Jacksonville Theological Seminary. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources; a Masters of Arts in Education, and a Doctorate in Christian Education.
Dr. Powell is currently co-founder and Pastor of The Living Body of Christ Inc., a new School of Ministry and Church located in Sebring, Florida. The Living Body of Christ opened its doors on December 27, 2015, where the mayor of Sebring, John Shoop, cut the ribbon in the opening ceremony. She has pledged to have the doors of L.B.C. opened throughout the week as an answer for those who might have a need to enter a House of God on a day when services are not normally being held. Also, the prayer line’s number 863-314-9393 is opened at all times.
