Since Jean's story appeared on the Today Show, Good Housekeeping, Yahoo!, and the U.K.'s "Daily Mail", an overwhelming number of people from around the world have contacted Jean to tell her how inspired they were by her miraculous journey from “wheels to heels”.
Jean was misdiagnosed as a young child with a form of cerebral palsy. After 33 years of countless doctor visits, medical procedures, unnecessary medications and surgeries, she was correctly diagnosed with dopa-responsive dystonia (DRD). In fact, she received the life changing news on Good Friday and stood independently for the first time in ten years on Easter Sunday! Jean now enjoys all the adventures of her new life, but she wouldn't change the journey that brought her to where she is today. Her positive attitude is highly contagious as she encourages others to appreciate the little things in life.

What a powerful and uplifting program Jean delivered for our holiday brunch. Such a professional to work with. I didn’t have to worry about electronics, book selling, etc.  I would highly recommend Jean. You won’t be disappointed.Â

Jean was personal, impelling, engaging, and was easy to work with. We shared our ideas and theme for our Day retreat. She embellished it with her love of Jesus, her story and her energy. She was an asset to our day. We would highly recommend her as a guest speaker.

Our students and staff were blessed to have Jean share her testimony with us. Her story of how she experienced God working in her life was engaging and full of hope. Jean's trust in God shone through her speaking. As I spoke to students after our chapel, they were encouraged about how God can take what the world sees has a very difficult situation and use it for His glory.

Jean is an accomplished speaker. She lived her story and is able to engage her audience. Jean uses humor to the right degree....not too much or too little. Her audience was captivated. I would recommend Jean as a speaker.

Jean was the highlight of our woman's retreat in May 2019. I highly recommend Jean. She arrived early and spent the morning participating with us. Her presentation was incredible - she shared her faith through her story of being misdiagnosed with levity, humor, and positivity. She was incredibly engaging and feedback was incredibly positive. Jean took the time to autograph every book purchased and chat with many participant at our event. I highly recommend Jean for your next event!

Jean came and spoke to our entire Human Resources team (about 70 people) for our annual meeting and Christmas party. She is one of the best speakers we have ever had (in the 9 years I've been here)! Her story was riveting, shocking, funny, sad, but most of all encouraging because she was able to show how God was working in her life the entire time, even when she didn't know what he was doing. I left there so filled with hope and motivation to work harder at appreciating all the blessings in my own life even through the challenges I am facing. I also left there more determined than ever to be a positive and hope fulled example to my husband who tends to dwell on the negative and miss God's loving hand in his own life. I am so glad I got to hear her speak.

Jean's story, as amazing as it is, made each person in the room feel like they had known her forever. Her calm presence and the way she added humor to a sensitive subject was great! Her message on appreciating the little things in life and that we are all here for a purpose was refreshing, meaningful, and thought provoking. As Jean shared her experience with medical procedures, multiple medications, and the physical limitations she had for so many years, the fact that she continued to stay positive through even the toughest times and that she relied on her faith in her family, friends, and most important, God, is truly an inspiration! Many Thanks for a wonderful event!

Jean Abbott's presentation at out church on September26, 2017 was excellent! Her story could be called a parable but one that is not a fictitious tale. She was very prepared, spoke clearly with a power point presentation. and certainly enthralled her audience.
