Dr. Lila is blessed to partner with individuals and married couples who desire to obtain wholesome intimacy in their life. She is passionate about marriages and the work that’s required to obtain authentic relationships with self, God, spouse, and others. She specializes in helping individuals find healing and restoration from the impact of trauma, childhood sexual abuse, sexual issues, and infidelity. Her clients are navigated through the process of change by utilizing their pain as a catalyst for the acquisition of purpose, power, and healing. Dr. Lila believes life experiences present many opportunities for growth. She challenges her client’s to alter their perspectives in exchange for transformation.
Dr. Lila is a licensed minister, licensed professional counselor and certified sex therapist (CST). She holds the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University. Her dissertation work examined, “Sexual satisfaction in married Christian women with a history of childhood sexual abuse.” She is committed to expanding the awareness and implications of CSA in marriages with the desire to provide hope and healing for those who have been negatively impacted. Dr. Lila’s Master of Arts Degree in Counseling was obtained from Dallas Baptist University, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work was earned from Southern University A& M College. Dr. Lila’s specialized sex therapy training, from a Christian perspective, was received at the Institute of Sexual Wholeness, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. She is also certified in CASE (Christian Association of Sexual Educators) as a Covenant Lovers instructor.
Dr. Lila is the Director of Wholesome Intimacy, PLLC, a private mental health practice in Mansfield, TX. She provides a safe and godly place for individuals to obtain resolutions of relational and sexual issues. In addition to counseling, Dr. Lila utilizes ministry, groups, seminars, workshops and stage productions to encourage individuals to prosper in their relationships. She has served as a co-founder of several marriage and family ministries, worked as a marriage coach, counselor, teacher, and mentor. With a deep desire to assist individuals and marriages in healing from the impact of sexual wounds, she and her husband produced the CD “Sex: God’s Gift- Affirmations for the Manifestation of Sexual Wholeness.
Dr. Lila and her husband have been married for over 28 years, and they are blessed with four children.
