More About Joan Ruffins

Hello there, my name is Joan Ruffins. I am a native of the island of Jamaica. I met my wonderful husband Lawrence in South Korea while we were serving in the United States Army. We have been married for 22 years and have three awesome children.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies from Excelsior College and my Master’s Degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University.  I am the author of, The Opposite of Fear is Faith: Ready, set, go after your dreams!  and Book of Ju'Anne. I enjoy traveling and have been to the lower 48 states, and five countries. I also enjoy taking pictures, painting, reading and writing. 

My passion is encouraging, inspiring and challenging others to embrace this magnificent life and go after their dreams, regardless of the cost.
