Dawn M Owens is the award-winning author of Like Me or Not: Overcoming Approval Addiction, receiving a 2019 Selah Award and the Writer of the Year at Write to Publish.
But those awards are not what define her. Dawn has learned through seasons of struggle that God lead her to write a book about overcoming approval addiction to prepare her for a period of stripping away. Over the last three years Dawn has been stripped away of titles: Executive Director to a ministry she created and led for seven years, Radio Show host to an audience of 24,000, and wife to a man she had been married to for fourteen and a half years.
Through those struggles, Like Me or Not’s content became the instruction guide for her life. Now she can truly say it no longer matters what she does; she knows who she is.
Dawn most frequently speaks to women’s groups about identity helping them understand more of who they are and whose they are.
She is currently the Associate Pastor at Destiny Church where she is passionate about equipping the body of Christ for the practical work of the ministry.
Dawn lives in Cullman, AL with her twelve year old son, Sawyer. You’ll see her most frequently grabbing coffee with a friend to talk Jesus and life – knowing that honoring God and giving Him the glory is the only goal worth living for.
