Having lost over 260 pounds, Teresa Shields Parker is a Christian Weight Loss coach, author, editor and speaker. Her book, Sweet Grace: How I Lost 250 Pounds and Stopped Trying to Earn God’s Favor is the long-standing number one Christian Weight Loss Memoir on Amazon. Her Sweet Series also includes: Sweet Freedom: Losing Weight and Keeping It Off With God’s Help; Sweet Change: True Stories of Transformation; Sweet Grace Study Guide and Sweet Freedom Study Guide. Her books are available on Amazon and on this website under the products tab.

Speaking

Teresa loves to speak for women’s meetings, retreats, conferences, corporate training, writer’s workshops, church gatherings and anywhere there are people. Education and Stuff

She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a  degree in journalism and religion and Beacon University with a master’s in Biblical studies. She is a certified life coach through Life Coaching International and is trained in beginning and advanced Sozo, an inner healing ministry. She is an ordained minister through Joan Hunter Ministries.

An award-winning journalist, Teresa has edited numerous publications including Good News Journal, a regional 100,000-circulation Christian newspaper, and Family Magazine, a Christian parenting publication, as well as several weekly newspapers and company publications. 

Hobbies and Family

When she’s not speaking, writing or leading groups, Teresa enjoys reading Christian fiction, engaging in water aerobics and water jogging, laughing and shopping. Now that she’s lost over 260 pounds, she does a lot of shopping.

She has been married to Roy since 1977. They have a grown son and married daughter and have been foster parents to 10 behaviorally-challenged teens and developmentally-delayed young adults. They live in Columbia, MO, where they are active in C2 Church, an Assembly of God congregation.
