More About Jocelyn Whitfield

Jocelyn  Whitfield is a prolific and prophetic author and who uses the pen and her voice to challenge the hearts and minds of people to embrace this great life that God promises.  She also writes on diverse topics that at times are uncomfortable and controversial to spur us to action to address real-life problems facing people and their communities.  Jocelyn has served in ministry for over 30 years, as a minister, women's ministry director, founder of a women's leadership development institute,  women's care ministry and currently host a monthly bible study- "Come Away with Me" for women who desire a closer walk with Christ.  She is also the author of  6 books; Women of Faith Living their Dreams, Broken and Divided- America and the Church, The Better than Abundant Life,  Made in His Image to Live for His Glory, Still Slaves in America- Working Together to Alleviate Poverty,  and Change Your Life- Change Your Words.

She also for the last 30 years has worked with the government to build the capacities of faith and community-based organizations nationally to deliver effective health, behavioral health, and social services.  Under President Bush and Obama's Administration's Faith-Based and Community Initiative, as one of the Faith-Based Coordinators for DHHS, under her direction, 38 coalitions nationally were established to meet the needs of the poor and those with behavioral health and other health issues.   In this capacity, she directed the development of several toolkits and publications; Sustaining Grassroots Community and Faith-Based Organizations Toolkit,  Maximizing Program Services through Private Sector Partnerships and Relationships, and a video and manual, Building Strong Partnership Among Community and Faith-Based Organizations.

She is currently the founder of the Center for Creative Life and Learning, a 501 (c) nonprofit organization, providing housing and supportive services for homeless women and children and mentoring programs for girls 7-18 years.
