As a young girl growing up in poverty, I felt anything but "beloved" and anything but beautiful. The tenth child of a dozen children, I was shy and introverted and struggled to find my voice. Through the experiences of hardship, God was loving me through the tough times and encouraging my faith and strength in finding my true identify in the one who created me. Jesus changed my perspective, and I began to see myself as God sees me: "Beloved!"
