Karen’s Personal Testimony
“I remember my affliction...Yet this I will call to mind and therefore I have hope…His compassions never fail, They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lam. 3:22-24
One minute you are walking peacefully down life’s path, and the next minute – you are hit suddenly and without warning by an unexpected tragedy, an illness, a broken relationship, or an emotional upheaval. In those times we are often consumed with doubts about God: “Where are you, God, when life changes forever?” Within 15 months Karen experienced seven major traumas including the sudden death of her daughter, Alexandria.
Newspaper stated: “Foristell, MO — A five-year old child was killed today when she was involved in a freak accident in a pasture by her home.” A routine account; the victim is nameless and the details are few, but they convey a life-changing tragedy. How does one go on after this and after all the traumas that preceded it and more that were to follow? The experiences were indeed life-changing for Karen who wrestled with her faith and her God and found that even in times of sever and overwhelming crisis you can say, “Great is Your faithfulness!” and you can even learn to thank Him for the pain and suffering.
