The Life of a Military Wife

"She sets about her work vigorously;  her arms are strong for her tasks." Proverbs 31:17

That verse describes military wives and what they do; work hard and be strong!

They are the women who proudly support their soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.  My husband was a chaplain in the US Army.  As a chaplain's wife, I met some amazing women; some of the strongest women I have ever met.

We have shared great times of celebration at airports when our husbands finally walk off that plane and take us in their arms; finally reunited after months or even years apart.  Then there are the fathers who meet their baby son or daughter for the first time in the airport terminal.

I have been with military wives when they were notified that their husband was injured, but they could not go be by his side.  Even worse, I have been with military wives when they got the devastating news of their husband's death in war or in training accidents.these women when they learned of their husband being injured and they couldn't get to him.

I have experienced tears of joy and pain with military wives.  They have taught me how to be patient, wait on God and rely on His strength.

As military wives, we try never to take life for granted and appreciate every minute we have with our military man.
