Right after Thanksgiving 2015, while traveling home from an out-of-state holiday visit, my family and I stopped at a NC rest area for a bathroom break. My husband Greg walked in -- but he did not walk out of the men's restroom. Shot at point blank range in an attempted armed robbery in the men's room, Greg was immediately paralyzed -- and this action thrust him, myself, and our whole family into a state of shock.
Yet -- Christ was still sovereign. In the days, weeks, and now years after the shooting, His Presence, Power, and Peace are more tangible now than ever before. In this session, Christ's Presence, Power, and Peace in Trauma, I will dive biblically and transparently into how Jesus hemmed us in behind and before -- even thirty minutes before we arrived at the rest area.
This session can be tailored to your time limits, and to your audience. There are so many angles with how Jesus met us in the shooting and afterward that everyone can be encouraged and mesmerized by Christ's unfailing love and protection -- even in the midst of unspeakable horror and tragedy. Only through Christ were we able to forgive and pray for the men who shot and paralyzed him, which astounded our friends and indeed the community.
