Cancer: Diagnosed and Living to Tell About It

Have you heard those dreadful words, "You've got cancer" but are now ready to turn sorrow into joy, darkness into light, and worry into new growth in your life? After being diagnosed, don't give up, but learn to live to tell about it. Donna experienced many emotions after her last diagnosis, but after turning it over to the Lord, experienced a revival in her relationship with God. Cancer doesn't prepare us to die; it gives us the opportunity to live!

During this breakout session or weekend conference, Donna will not only share her personal experiences with being diagnosed with cancer (3 times, the last being stage 4), but attendees will also enjoy sharing a personal experience as well, whether it be about their own cancer journey or honoring someone they love. Together, let's discover:

  • How to overcome fear and paranoia.
  • How to overcome a bleak diagnosis with victory and joy.
  • Why "too many" voices coming at you simultaneously can overwhelm and discourage you, but learning to reverse those feelings brings glory to God.
  • How to find joy at the beginning, middle, and end of your cancer journey.
  • The Ribbons of Color: what do we 'HOPE' for?

Even if just one broken person, through faith in Christ, gives their gut-wrenching diagnosis over to Him, the supernatural peace that replaces the sorrow and fear can cause a life changing event in someone else's life that otherwise neither would have had the joy of experiencing.

Verses explored:

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 24:4

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:17

"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." Romans 8:26

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." Ephesians 6:10

I would love to come share this topic that has touched the lives of so many men and women, perhaps even in your own ladies group. For those who have never been diagnosed, they will still find power and comfort in the message. For those who have been diagnosed, prayerfully they will come to an understanding of their amazing power to overcome fear, unrest, and worry in Christ.
