Candy has been married to Reverend Lindsey Alcosiba for nearly 31 years. Together they have been in ministry with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Central Pacific for over 25 years with a broad array of ministries and leadership.

 Candy considers her husband to be the most transparent, humble, and loving man and she considers herself lucky to be his partner in ministry.  

 Candy has 3 boys and her greatest joy has been raising them to be warriors for Christ.  All three have a deep relationship with Jesus and in a confusing and troubled world, they walk counter to the culture in obedience to His Word.

 Candy is known by her peers and church family as a woman of prayer and believes that every other spiritual characteristic is born out of the posture of prayer.  Prayer was modeled for her daily as she would watch her mother every morning kneeling before the Lord - an image that has stayed throughout her life.  

 Candy has been involved in many ministries including college and young adults, women’s sexual brokenness, marrieds, seniors and marginalized people.  She firmly believes that ALL are significant and everyone matters in the eternal picture.  Her heart is to speak, teach, disciple, write, minister and direct people towards the love, hope, and redemption of Jesus Christ.  

 Candy has been a main speaker at many women’s retreats, and events. She has been leading annual prayer summits and workshops for the past 7 years.  These have been instrumental in teaching and guiding women on how to pray.

 She has been the keynote speaker at the City Serve pastor’s conference sand has spoken at several Bay Area churches on sexual brokenness and sexual holiness. In addition.

Candy speaks on a variety of topics including women of influence, women of the Word, Wilderness Journeys, the Gospel and whatever topic is required.  Her passion is prayer. Her heart is to teach, encourage and spur women on towards holiness and prayer.

Candy shares her journey of suffering and pain when her brother was arrested.  She learned he had been living a double life for over two decades.  He was convicted of horrible crimes and sentenced to over 30 years in prison.  Her vulnerability, empathy, and journey through the darkest season of her life has ministered to many.

Candy is the founder of First She Prays ministries, www.firstsheprays.com.  She is an avid writer/blogger bringing encouragement and hope through her devotional entries.  Candy is working on her first book with her first born called, “A Journey With My Son”.

 In addition to ministry life, supporting her husband, speaking, and writing, Candy is an avid runner, marathon runner, and triathlete.  She is also active in prison ministries.

She is a graduate of World Magazines Institute of Journalism.
