More About Karen Metzger

Karen brings an energetic and personal speaking style to women’s ministry. Her love of scripture as the basis of dealing with all of life’s circumstances is evident. She presents Jesus as Savior, Lord, and Redeemer. She passionately communicates that God, in His grace, can redeem any life circumstance for His honor and glory, as evidenced by God’s grace in her own challenging life experiences.

            A graduate of Bethel College and Western Michigan University, Karen holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Education/Social Cultural Foundations. She recently retired from a teaching career at Glen Oaks Community College. Her multifaceted teaching career has included teaching nursery school as well as college courses at a medium security men’s prison.

            As an experienced adult and children’s Bible teacher, her primary teaching ministry is with women. Active in music and ministry at her home church, Karen also serves in local and district lay-leadership.

            Karen and her husband, Harry, have three adult children and two grandchildren. She enjoys writing, reading, gardening, bicycling, backpacking, and any other adventure her husband can dream up for them to share together (just ask about rock climbing in Alaska or the Harley!).
