Growing up as a pastor's daughter in the Free Methodist Church. I felt the Holy Spirit tug at my heart as a little child. I gave my heart to Him as a seventh grader and dedicated my whole life to Him in eigth grade. I attended Azusa Pacific University and studied Music/Biblical Studies. After graduation I taught school, worked on my Master's Degree and did short-term missions work. After serving on staff at three churches, I married Ike, a pastor in the Southern Baptist Denomination. The church he had planted, Olive Branch Community Church and Schools in Corona, CA grew tremendously and we give God all the glory. I have authored three books on prayer and three children's picture books. We moved to Texas as a result of the Lord's leading and I now teach at a Christian school and am an avid quilter. I prayerfully consider every opportunity and wait for the Lord's approval. When that comes I feel confident that He will also provide exactly what needs to be said. I love speaking on PRAYER and also love creating fresh studies in the Word. I have many stories about how God responds to FAITH.

  • The Adventure of Deeper Prayer
  • Most people know they need to pray more. They just don’t know how. And most people agree that prayer works, but they find themselves dozing off when they set time aside to do it. This session gives practical ways to put more prayer in anyone’s day, and introduces tools for effective, life-changing prayer.
  • Taking God at His Word
  • In Acts 27:17ff, we read of an incident in the life of Paul in which his circumstances are screaming, “No hope.” Yet his hope is not robbed along with that of the men he travels with. His hope is secure because it rests on the Word of God, which is unable to be false. He has been in a storm for two weeks. There is no sign of sun or stars. What a storm this must have been! But Paul, who has been informed by an angel that he will stand before Caesar, believes God. This is the essence of true faith, and we will find it an essential ingredient if our prayers are to be birthed in the miraculous: We must trust God’s Word, in the midst of the storm, that God’s promises will turn out exactly as we have been told. “Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Numbers 23:19 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
  • The Fear of the Lord
  • In the New Testament we see the disciples learning the “fear of the Lord”. They start out “admiring” God, but they learn through a steady stream of encounters that He is the ultimate authority over sickness, demons, food, sin, weather, resources, their own weaknesses and finally, over death itself. Our lifetimes are lessons in learning about the authority of God. The more we know, the more we can respect/honor, believe and obey. As God introduces more of Himself we see that there is more at which to marvel. This produces the natural effect of awe, trust and should lead to a greater desire to obey. The three fruits then of the fear of the Lord are: honor, faith and obedience. PRO 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
  • Walking by the Spirit
  • One of the best gifts God has ever given His church is His Spirit. He is our built in tutor, counselor, resource giver, strategist, guide, etc. But many do not fully take advantage of His wisdom, power and influence. The Pentecostals have made us a little afraid of the HS, but God’s Spirit is just God “on the go.” The more that a man is joined up to Thee and the more that he is gathered together in Thee, the more he understandeth without labour high secret mysteries, for he hath received from above the light of understanding. Thomas ‘A Kempis, The Imitation of Christ, p. 7
  • Spiritual Warfare 101
  • We hear the term Spiritual Warfare being tossed around a lot, but what does the Bible really say about this battle we live in? How can we defeat the enemy, not just avoid him? This study gives us solid Biblical direction on taking back what the enemy has plundered. GEN 14:14-16 And when Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot with his possessions, and also the women, and the people.
  • Are You in God's Waiting Room?
  • You never know where you are on God’s time line. The answer may come in two minutes or two decades. You don’t get a number that gives you the idea of how long the wait will be. It’s not like the post office where you can size up the waiting room and decide if it’s worth it or not. And so in God’s waiting room, like the post office, many “prayers” have been discarded simply because those who claimed them, like numbers, were not willing to “wait” for their fulfillment. The problem of getting great things from God is being able to hold on for the last half-hour. Mrs. Charles Cowman, Streams in the Desert p. 81 Until the time that His word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. Ps. 105:19
