Why
are speakers required to provide a church affiliation
and date of salvation?
This
is a resource designed specifically for church and
para-church women's groups. Church affiliation enables
planners to find women whose doctrinal positions are
similar to their own. The salvation date provides
the planner with two things: 1) confirmation that
the speaker does, indeed, have a personal, faith-based
relationship with Jesus Christ and 2) an indication
of how long that relationship has had to grow and
develop into maturity.
In
addition, it would be a complete waste of time and
resources for us to include contact information about
non-Christian speakers at this site: No one would
call them. Or worse, if someone did call, they would
quickly realize that it was a mis-match and would
be disappointed they had wasted both people's time.
To
what does "Date of Salvation" refer?
"Date
of Salvation" refers to the day a person places
their faith and life into the hands of Almighty God
through saving faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. The
short story is this:
God
loves you.
You
have sinned (done things that offended Him).
God
is perfect and will not tolerate the presence
of sin. Our problem is that we could not possibly
be "good enough" or "pay enough"
to make things right with God.
Jesus loves us. He has always been perfect.
He was in a position to help.
He
saw our need and stepped into this tiny place
called earth, so He could made it right for
us, with God.
He
lived a perfect life and died a horrible death
on the cross, during which He bore our sins.
He "took hell" so we could "gain
heaven."
To
receive this free gift, you must confess your
sins (acknowleging that you have, in fact, sinned)
and ask Jesus to forgive you. It is in His power
to do so... He died for you.
The
day you understand this, believe it and receive
it for yourself is your salvation date. It is
the BEST day of your entire life on earth and
it signifies the beginning of your eternal life
in Christ.
Upon
receiving salvation, Jesus cleanses your heart
from all your sins, past, present and future,
and the Holy Spirit of God "seals" you
and moves into your life.
The
rest of your life may now be spent thanking
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for what they
have done for you by living a life that brings
them pleasure. |
